Recently, there has been a shadow over marriage in America as gay and lesbian couples are struggling for the rights that marriage involves. One of the most important marital events of the year is the Perry v. Schwarzenegger case that is to take place in June, and which is to challenge the ban on same-sex marriage in California, which is described in Proposition 8. What makes a strong point is that homosexuals are still treated in a different way in the U.S. and they are alleged to be second had citizens who should not have the same rights as the mainstream citizens, and denying them the right to marry is only one aspect of the problem. The discrimination against homosexuals, which is fully supported by the government, renders them vulnerable as they have to wear the badge that says different. Children are probably those who suffer the most as they feel inferior to their peers because they have no idea why the law terms their parents as different. In another episode, we witness the story of two gay fathers that are divorced and their teenage son.
