How long will Tooth White lightening last?

The Tooth White lightening results of different bleaching strategies can last for one or two years, but this varies from individual to individual. Research on dentist prescribed “home” bleaching treatment has revealed that for folk who achieved a brighter shade, only half of them still had better teeth half a year later. Your eating, drinking, smoking and brushing habits may have arepercussion on how long these Tooth White treatments last.

Itis important to remember that bleaching doesn’t always imply the whiteness that you predict. The results change from person to person and rely on the shade of your teeth before bleaching. For that reason, itis important to talk about all of the possible options for improving the appearance of your teeth with your dentist before you decide on the Tooth White treatment for you.

Special issues

There are some examples when a dentist may recommend that you do not have bleaching. As an example, if you have tooth decay, this should be treated before beginning any Tooth White lightening treatments. In a similar way, your gums should be healthy, so if you’ve got any gum illness this is going to be handled.

If your teeth are extremely responsive to hot and cold food or drinks, bleaching might not be advocated because to get that Tooth White grin, an amount of sensitivity may have to be endured.

All dental treatment carries a risk of complications, which are the unwelcome, but usually temporary effects of a successful treatment. Complications include non-permanent sensitivity of the teeth to cold and warm, a sore throat, tender gums and white patches on the gums. These complications should disappear after a few days. Contact your dentist if the symptoms persist.
